How to make money online?
This is a question lot of people ask me!
Now, to give a bit of the background;
Many people sign up for many of the programs, buy e-books, join traffic exchanges, buy safelists, try article marketing, try PPC and finally come back and say it just does not work. They go to the extent that, all of that is sheer nonsense, no one can make money, it is all scam.
Wow, then, how come there are so many people who are making money online? Many of them are not even on a regular 9 to 5 job. They depend totally on the online income they earn.
Well, these people have put in lot of time, effort and energy into making it work!
Online business is like any other business. It takes time to grow! You just can't make $5000 in your first month.
Here is what the people who did not succed did.
They signed up for the programs/products. They tried it for a month or two. After that, they saw that they could just make may be some $50 or a $100 and thought, well with this kind of money what will I do. It is not even enough for out of pocket expenses! Then, they give up!
Here is what one should do to succeed!
You have to stick around with the program for at least 5-6 months to see some real results coming your way. Why is that? Let me explain.
When you start off as a newbie, this is what you typically do.
1. buy into an affiliate program or buy a e-book which teaches you how to make money.
2. Follow some of the methods and promote your referral links/programs.
3. Earn anywhere between $0 to $100 in a month or two.
4. Get disappointed that you did not make that promised $5000!
5. Finally quit!
What if you stayed around a bit longer?
This is what would happen!
1. You will have spent some time learning the major promotion methods.
2. Got to learn the trick of how to generate quality targeted traffic, generate leads and eventually sales!
3. You would have learnt about the best ways to do PPC with Google, Yahoo and MSN and maximized their potential.
4. You would have seen your $100 going upto $200 or a $300 or a $400 per month.
5. You would have invested the money that you earned into promoting your programs/referral links
6. Start seeing bigger revenues as your blogs/websites start ranking better in the search engines.
Unfortunately, you give up after trying it for a month or two. That is the time, you are learning all about it and building your base. Once you build your base, you are on a take off mode with your internet business.
No matter what, to really see the proof of the pudding and to succeed, you must spend at least 6-8 months with any program you join.
Of course, which program you join is again something which defines your success or failure. You have to research and find out about the popularity of the program, is it a scam? or is it a program that is tough to promote..... many of those parameters.
There are people who are just selling programs to you and leave you to fend for yourself. If you are an expert, you know what to do. But, those who are starting off as newbies will need all the guidance and help.

A brief update on my progress
I started off on my quest on internet marketing in Jan 09.
Lost couple fo thousand dollars till March 09. Yes, I did.
Then, Joined Acme People Search Affiliate Program in March 09.
For almost 2 months I did not do anything as I did not know how to go about it :)
Then, with the help of my upline, I started off in May 09.
After that I have not looked back!
Now, I am a Super Sponsor in Acme People Search Forum!
What does it mean?
It means, Tissa pays me for all my expenses for APS, GDI, GVO and Wealthy Affiliates University.
A business where all your basic expenses are covered.
Quite a distance I have covered and I am pleased.
