All about good old days!

An interesting reading that one of my friends passed on to me. Here it is.

'Why Our Great-Grandparents Had Fond Memories Of Their Youth...'
(I'm surprised they remember anything!!)

A bottle of Bayer's 'Heroin'.
Between 1890 & 1910 heroin was sold as a non-addictive substitute for morphine.
It was also used to treat children suffering with a strong cough.

Coca Wine, anyone?

Metcalf's Coca Wine was one of a huge variety of wines with cocaine on the market. Everybody used to say that it would make you happy and it would also work as a medicinal treatment.

Mariani Wine

Mariani wine (1875) was the most famous Coca wine of its time.
Pope Leo XIII
used to carry one bottle with him all the time.
He awarded Angelo Mariani (the producer) with a Vatican gold medal.

Maltine
Maltine Coca Wine was produced by the Maltine Manufacturing Company of New York ...
It was suggested that you should take a full glass with or after every meal. Children should only take half a glass.

Opium for Asthma

At 40% alcohol plus 3 grams of opium per tablet,
It didn't cure you, but you didn't care...

Cocaine Tablets (1900)

All stage actors, singers, teachers and preachers had to have them for a maximum performance. Great to 'smooth' the voice.

Cocaine drops for toothache

Very popular for children in 1885.
Not only did they relieve the pain, they made the children very happy
!

Opium for newborns

I'm sure this would make them sleep well
(not only the Opium, but also 46% alcohol)!

It's no wonder they were called, 'The Good Old Days'!!
From cradle to grave...
Everyone Was Stoned!!

Local Search is getting more popular! Here is how!

Friends,

Most of the search through Google gets you the local results first. Why is that? Whenever we search for a particular keyword (search item), it is generally something about a local service, facility...... Google intelligently gets you the results from a location near to you. How about using a similar method, promote local businesses, generate leads for them and earn money too?

Reality Check - Content Creation - Outsourcing to USA

When you are a start up and trying to do multiple things you are also watching the money draining out of your pocket. I decided that I will create the company website. Spent some time and had a basic website up and running as everyone you talk to, will say, what is your website, can I see? We had put together some sparse content in a hurry and launched the site.

A few months passed by and I realized that we need to revamp our website. Spoke to quite a few local companies (here in India) and it took some time to realize that all these are going to be expensive (well, at least for me) and something that I cannot afford at that point of time.

Someone would say, a design would cost you 1000$ to 1500$, then content would cost you 50$ a page so on so forth. Our website of some 20 pages would cost me around 4000-5000$. I said thank you but no thank you.

We now have a redesign of the website done at about 500$. All the 20 pages of content I got it done for about $250 and may be another 100$ for images/flash .....

I could do that by outsourcing my content writing to writers in USA.

Is there a message here? Yes, my fellow IT services and consulting companies, stop being greedy, start being realistic and focus on providing good services at affordable costs to customers.

Does anyone know of a recall from any Indian Automobile Manufacturers?

Yes, we know Toyota, General Motors, Honda, ...... all of them have had to recall and fix the defective component free of cost?

The question is, has any of the Indian automobile manufacturer recalled their cars and had to do something similar? Not that I know of?

There are two messages here! One, none of them care about the customer or we have such high levels of dependency, reliability and precision in manufacturing in comparison to rest of the world. That is unbelievable.

Comments/suggestions are welcome :)

Some facts about Bangalore that many Bangaloreans don't know about!

Bangalore is the place where I was born, brought up and am living. Here is to some interesting places in and around Bangalore.

1. Bannerghatta National Park - Bangalore is one of the few cities, may be, in the world which is just a stone's throw away from mother nature. There is a huge forest area in the belt of Banneraghatta, Kanakapura and Anekal belt. This is just about 40km away from the main city. The farming community around these places face issues many a time because of Elephants wandering into the fields and destroying the crop.

2. Nandi Hills - Nandi Hills, used to be very beautiful, weekend getaway spot and it still can be. There are two ancient temples - Yoga Nandeeshwara and Bhoga Nandeeshwara which only the devotees visit, most of the crowd that comes around to Nandi hills have different ideas. They get drunk, throw plastic bottles and beer bottles all around and make the place messy.

I have my own name for Nandi Hills - Monkey hills. The monkey population is quite high and they are quite unruly. They have no fear and literally scare you. They snatch away anything that they can from you and work in teams.

3. Gavi Gangadhareshwara Temple - Right in the heart of the city, to be precise in Hanumanthanagar, very close the the Big Bull Temple, this is a cave temple and dates way back to 9th centutry. Gavi means Cave in Kannada the local language and that is how the name. The surrounding area used to be called as Gavipuram and the old timers still call it by that. On the day of Makara Sankranti/Pongal, there is a special worship. It is also said that the first rays of the sun on that day, fall straight onto the idol.

More to come......

A money making program I recommend after a long time.

This is something that you will find interesting.  Here is a review About Matt Bacak and Alen Sultanic’s Mass Money Makers

So, Mass Money Makers has just been launched and it seems to like that everyone is on board.

I am sure that you will receive like ten more emails about it, but I got a sneak peek at the product, and want to give you my review.

So, what is Mass Money Makers?

It's based on a simple concept that works (and works well)...this concept is what allows us to rank on 1st page of Google within two to three weeks for just about any keyword out there...

...then we take those same rankings and get them to build massive (really massive) lists...which in turn are piped through "mass money funnels" and the end result is money.

Simple, yet very powerful. Indeed it is, and that's why they've simplified it into four core videos that are 2 to 3 hours each, where they break down everything in minute detail.

Can you get any better then that?

So in the end, I vote for Mass Money Makers. It's a great product, that really works.

If you've been looking for a way to make money online, then you really need to get in on it before the launch is completed.

When they first opened the doors, they said the software would be limited. I just got an update from them and as of now they only have 17 spots left!

I highly recommend that you get your hands on this software right now!

I stayed in this hotel last week. On the outside, looks pretty good. Found some cockroaches roaming around the room. Just check before you take a room :)
